Dad's trip with me to Crazy Horse

Dad looked pretty good as we checked in for the walk up Crazy horse.

It didn't last real long.  We were already at about 6,000 ft elevation, and had walked about a half mile from the parking lot when this was taken.  As we started down the trail, he was doing fine, but just before we came to the first checkpoint, there was a long down hill stretch, and Dad started losing his balance.  Pretty soon, he was hanging on to me, and by the time we go to the checkpoint, he couldn't straighten up.  So I asked the emergency personel to bring him down on a 4 wheeler.

By the time I got to the visitor center he was fine, and was pushing the wheel chair they had given him.

As you get closer to the mountain, your perspective changes.

Here is check point 4 on the back side of the mountain.

and the big Cahuna himself.

He said he enjoyed the trip immensely, but I am sure he is disappointed he didn't make all the way to the top.
