I really liked their cabin. It was like a real "cabin" at
the lake, the way it "used to be", not fancy, just comfortable and
relaxing. Now that I know where it is, we will visit again. .
Not far from there, we found this sign we really liked.
On the homefront, Sadie was bred, so now we are anticipating bulldog puppies!
Editors note: Sadie was not pregnant, so we will try again.
This is Sadie's boyfriend.
(The attempt was unsuccessful, and Katie has since been neutered. We
had no idea puppies were such a problem. Now we know why bulldog puppies
are so expensive)
This was our cabin group from the Camp Metigoshe staff reunion.
Bob, Ruth, Rusty and I were the actual staff members.
We went as a group to the original Camp Metigoshe site.
This is what the old ball field and parking lot looks like today.
This
is the view from the foundation where the camp lodge originally sat.
The bridge to the island is mainly in place and in good shape.
Inside the island chapel. Many scores of campfire memories were centered
here.
It was great to see David Ronning back among us. I should
have taken more pictures, but I was enjoying catching up, and didn't take my
usual volume of pictures.
David Ronning sent me this picture, thanks David.
I did get a shot of Dave Brunkow and his grandson, also the next weekend I saw
Dave again at the Sioux Falls Jazzfest, so that was great as well.
Earlier, Grace and I had a great trip to the Black Hills.
We enjoyed the 1880 train out of Hill City.
Not fast, relaxing.
We enjoyed the scenery
the whole experience was enjoyable.
Grace was in her element with the Burros in Custer Park.
This is my camp at Long Lake
This has been my personal escape place this summer.
My camp on the edge of the lake. . .thanks to my friend Bruce McKnight who owns
the land. What a great place!
As we look at another election year, this was my favorite shot from the summer.
Someone placed the manure spreader along the route of the 1880 train, and I
thought the theme was great!
